How do I connect via Wi-Fi?

Connect your iPhone to the Wi-Fi network broadcast by your OBD-II adapter (usually named something like "OBDDevice" or "WiFi_OBDII"). Then open the app, go to Settings, select Wi-Fi as the connection type, and enter the adapter's IP address and port (default: 192.168.0.10 / port 35000). Tap Connect on the Dashboard.

How do I connect via Bluetooth (BLE)?

Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone. In the app, go to Settings and select Bluetooth as the connection type. The app will scan for nearby BLE OBD-II adapters automatically. Tap your adapter when it appears in the list.

The app says "Connection Failed" — what do I do?

• For Wi-Fi: make sure your iPhone is connected to the adapter's Wi-Fi network, not your home network.
• For Bluetooth: ensure the adapter is powered on and within range. Try toggling Bluetooth off and on.
• Check that the adapter is ELM327-compatible.
• Try the app's Demo Mode (Settings → Demo Mode) to verify the app is working correctly.

Which OBD-II adapters are supported?

AutoCheck OBD works with any ELM327-compatible OBD-II adapter that supports Wi-Fi or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Popular compatible adapters include Veepeak, OBDLink, and BAFX Products.

Which vehicles are supported?

Any petrol or diesel vehicle manufactured after 1996 that supports the OBD-II standard — this covers the vast majority of cars on the road today.

How do I clear fault codes?

Go to the Diagnostics tab, run a scan to read the fault codes, then tap "Clear Codes". Note: clearing codes will reset your vehicle's readiness monitors.

Is my data private?

Yes. AutoCheck OBD does not collect or transmit any data. All communication stays between your iPhone and your OBD-II adapter on your local network. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
